Older generations think that millennials and Gen Z have no work ethic. Obviously that's not true across the board, it's just that younger folks aren't inclined to work for jobs with no benefits, living wages, or humanity. One millennial recently got accused of faking being sick at work to get out of his shift, even though he had a fever, chills, and was violently ill in the bathroom.
u/AccomplishedLaw49 recently just suffered the most heinous flu of his life and nearly lost his job because of it. Despite his horrific condition, he had no PTO or sick days and was forced to go in for work. His militant boss had made it clear that if he were to attempt to 'skip out' on his shift, he'd be fired. After nearly puking in front of several customers, he raced to the bathroom to relieve his nausea. Afterwards he begged his boss to go home and have her find someone to cover his shift.
Yikes. Pale in the face, woozy, and on the verge of fainting, our millennial employee decided to stick it out, fearing losing his job and falling victim to his bills and debt. Gotta get that dolla, I guess. Frankly, he had no choice whether or not to stay and work, but if he were really as lazy as his boomer boss thinks all millennials are, he would have walked out and quit on the spot.
